Neil Coyle becoming a Walworth Councillor in 2010
Neil Coyle becoming a Walworth Councillor in 2010

The election is in under 5 weeks but, like so much since Cameron and Clegg’s Coalition entered Downing Street, even the constituency is now cut!

I have been so proud to serve all of ‘Old Southwark’ and the new boundary will still include Bermondsey, Borough and Rotherhithe but this time Walworth is carved out.

I was first elected in Walworth as a Councillor in 2010, some 14 years ago as the photo shows! I’ve been privileged to serve such great people and such an amazing community. I was pleased to be a founder member of the Walworth Society and am grateful to Jeremy Leech and the whole team for all their work – putting so many hours in to help other people and to improve the local area. I wish Walworth well!

I hope the people of Bermondsey, Rotherhithe and Borough keep me on 4th July but wanted to thank all those who helped me become a councillor and then MP, especially the amazing Peta Steel!
