Southwark has a higher than average rate of HIV and the Government has been promising access to ‘PrEP’ to prevent transmissions for some time.
I’ve tabled a parliamentary question asking the Secretary of State for Health if the long-awaited action plan to ensure PrEP rollout will be delivered before Westminster adjourns for ‘recess’ in a few weeks.
Every delay to delivering PrEP is a delay to Ministers delivering on yet more promises and puts more people at risk of avoidable transmission. I hope my urgent question is answered soon and the action plan is out before the end of July.
