Today the Parliamentary Group on Ending Homelessness, which I co-chair, hosted a report launch attended by the Minister and Mayors including Andy Burnham.
Homelessness has increased dramatically under the Tories and last year’s scheme to accommodate rough sleepers during Covid was called ‘Everyone In’ but didn’t find everyone who needed it sadly.
To meet targets to reduce homelessness, the Government must set out a long term plan and resources and stop treating the issue with an ad hoc, temporary approach that does not meet people’s needs.
