MPs will tomorrow have an emergency debate on the latest broken promise from the Tory manifesto.
To be fair, many Tory MPs are quite angry at Johnson’s latest let down – this time on how we support other countries and prevent diseases spread across borders for example.
The Government have broken their own 2019 manifesto promise by announcing these surprise cuts, having already abandoned their commitment to defended free TV licenses for some pensioners and cutting our Armed Forces in breach of another manifesto commitment.
‘Global Britain’ is a meaningless soundbite in the face of a Tory Government reducing our military and aid reach. But everyone seems to be aware that no one is fully safe from Covid until we are all safe. The aid budget would help with that aim but this incompetent regime is recklessly hacking away at the age old British tradition of helping those in need sadly.
