Today I met with the charity Independent Age to discuss ways to tackle the low uptake of ‘Pension Credit’ – a benefit for people over the state retirement age. Currently 4 in 10 people who should get this extra support are not receiving it sadly. Independent Age suggest that over £7 million is going unclaimed by pensioners in Southwark.
