I’ve met with many people, including parents, staff, governors and other school leaders, all concerned about the future of two Walworth schools. St Johns Church of England school are fearful of closure and English Martyrs were initially told they would be merging with St George’s in SE1. There has been much needless anxiety for children, parents and staff and Southwark Council need to publish their projections for student numbers which they are currently refusing to share, despite a legal request to see data officers have passed to other organisations.
