In 2019 the Government was meant to publish a report into about how policies have affected rising demand for foodbanks.
Two and a half years later it hasnโt appeared. A month ago, the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions promised she would write to me and explain what is happening with this report that could help identify why so many children needed the Marcus Rashford campaign last year. I have heard nothing.
DWP appears scared of the reportโs findings and are suppressing its publication. Ministers deny their policies, like Universal Credit, have contributed to demand for foodbanks but refuse to publish their own findings.
I have written to the Minister to express my concern and to ask for the report again.
