I am on the Work and Pensions Select Committee and we’ve published our latest report into Universal Credit problems.

Among our recommendations is to:

• keep the extra £20 introduced during the pandemic which has helped over 6 million people;
• ensure awareness that DWP is now owed almost £1 billion in loans, even though people approach seeking urgent help, not debt; and
• publish the analysis of foodbank use which was due out a year ago!

I hope the Government listen to the cross-party committee’s recommendations and act quickly on our concerns.
