The Dept for W&P is still requiring people seeking urgent help to wait a minimum of 5 weeks for any support. This damages people’s lives but also costs the Government more. Universal Credit was slammed by the Government spending watchdog for rising costs of UC last week but the Minister laughed as he ‘couldn’t even accept the premise of the question’ I asked on this today. Scoffing whilst people suffer is no solution and makes DWP look even more out of touch as it squanders millions more on a harmful system.
