


Whilst the £1.57 billion rescue package for the arts is welcome there is still much ahead to be nervous about, including the Chancellor refusing to extend the furlough scheme for workers in sectors like arts and culture who will still be affected in October.
Yesterday I co-chaired a meeting of the Southbank and Waterloo Partnership to discuss the COVID-19 recovery plan for this important cultural area. Previously, I wrote to the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport in my role as co-chair of the partnership, calling for an intervention to safeguard our economic and cultural powerhouse.
