Under the ‘Everyone In’ scheme Ministers told councils to get all rough sleepers off the streets to prevent the spread of COVID and to protect the NHS. After ten years of rising homelessness, Everyone In housed 15,000 rough sleepers in about ten days.

However, the Government is reneging on its promise to fund the scheme, leaving councils massively out of pocket, including Southwark. I have asked Ministers to cover everyone’s costs, including the families they have denied access to public funds under racist Home Office policies.
