I have been calling for the Government to ensure rough sleepers rehoused during the pandemic do not end up forced back on to the street. Ministers have now brought forward funding to house 3,300 within the next year.

After a decade of Government policies creating a rough sleeping crisis, this is welcome, especially if there is specialist support to help tackle issues like substance abuse and poor mental health. I am glad some people will not be made homeless again but will be watching the delivery of this scheme very closely.
