The Office for National Statistics has revealed that 726 homeless people died in England and Wales in 2018. Their report paints a grim picture of 21st century, austere Britain. Two homeless people dying every day is an unacceptable and avoidable outcome after almost a decade of rising rough sleeping and homelessness. The rise in homelessness and deaths of rough sleepers has been almost annual since 2010.

Today I challenged the Government on this issue and the Minister for Homelessness has agreed to meet me in my role as Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Ending Homelessness to address this damning report.
