The reliance on foodbanks created by Cameron, Clegg and May since 2010 continues with the Trussell Trust revealing today it gave out 1.6 million packages of support last year, including 600,000 for children. In Southwark their local team helped 1,000 extra people last year, a 25% growth. I asked the Government to provide time to debate this dreadful indictment of its policies and especially Universal Credit today (see video below).

I chair the parliamentary foodbank group and will be raising these awful stats further. I also run an emergency foodbank from my local office (149 Jamaica Road) and donations are always welcome. Alternately, Pecan supported thousands of people across Southwark last year and you can donate to their work online: https://www.pecan.org.uk/donate
