Today in the Commons I asked the Government why Southwark council was forced to spend £6.5 million on British children denied help under Home Office ‘hostile environment’ rules.

The Minister garbled something nonsensical about asylum seekers in a response which showed the Government completely fails to understand what ‘No Recourse to Public Funds’ means for public spending or the thousands of families forced into destitution as a result.
